About Gavin

Gavin is currently a senior consultant at BRE, whom specialises as a technical author and project manager on the Energy Saving Trusts Best Practice in Housing Programme.

His career in energy efficiency began after graduating from Derby University. After completing a degree in environmental monitoring he joined National Energy Services in Milton Keynes where he became a well known SAP trainer, providing energy efficiency ratings and advice to architects and the wider housing industry.

Recently, Gavin has delivered a series of Part L events and regularly lectures on the topics of airtightness, thermal bridging and passive solar design, both in the UK and Europe. He is also a project manager on the EU SAVE Promotion of European PassivHaus dwellings project.

Recently, his knowledge is being put to good use advising the development of the demonstration houses at BRE’s Innovation park which aim to achieve the higher levels of the code for sustainable homes.
