Ian Theoboldt has been involved with sustainable energies for over 20 years. The main focus always was and still is practicality and affordability, a main concern being independence from fossil fuels. This goes hand-in-hand with raising the general level of environmental awareness amongst the population.
Because it is still better to reduce energy use in the first place, Ian also is involved in developing low-energy and passive houses.
Academically educated in Germany where he worked many years in the research and development field and as a Quality Manager, Ian moved to Scotland to start his own company in the year 2000. Moving on again once more, he now continues his Energy Consultancy in Sweden, a “citadel” for sustainable energies, where the government aims 75% of all housing stock to be according to or at least similar to German passive house standard by the year 2020 – the year by which Sweden plans to be completely “oil-free”.
